IM LOOKING AT A JD 955, AND WAS WONDERING IF THE PRICE SOUNDED RIGHT. IT HAS 320 HRS. 60" BELLY MOWER, FRONTEND LOADER, 7 FT BACK BLADE, AND 60 " BRUSH HOG. ASKING PRICE IS 15500. ANY INPUT WOULD BE APPRECIATED

I THINK IT IS 97'. I PLAN TO USE IT TO PUT IN AND MAINTAIN 5 ACRE LAWN. ALSO TO ASSIST IN BUILD A POLE BARN AND PUTTING IN A FENCE. DO YOU THINK THAT IT WILL WORK ALRIGHT OR SHOULD I LOOK BIGGER. THANKS ....

The 955 should do just fine for what you have in mind. Those are some pretty low hours for a 7 year old machine so I take it that it is in very good condition. What brand FEL and belly mower? What brand are the other implements? ....

I DROVE THE TACTOR TODAY AND IT SEEMS TO BE IN LIKE NEW CONDITION. IT HAS ONLY BEEN USED FOR LIGHT YARD WORK. THE CURRENT OWNER IS A DOC. AND I CAN ONLY ASSUME THAT HE JUST WANTED TO SPEND 20K ON A LAWN MOWER, BECAUSE HIS YARD IS 1-2 ACRES AT MOST. HE BOUGHT EVERYTHING AT ONCE FROM A JD DEALER, BUT I AM NOT SURE OF THE BRAND. ....

That sounds like a pretty good deal to me! With those low hours the tractor is barely broken in. You are for the most part buying a nearly new tractor. You may want to make an offer before it is gone. Here is a link to a 955 pricing post. ....
